Kobe Kingfish are a delicacy in Japan, and in 2018 the Japanese seafood company is celebrating its 70th anniversary with a new catch.

The catch was captured in the Gulf of California, the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.
Kobe meat is cooked with the fish in the Japanese traditional method known as sekai-san, which involves cooking the fish for 15 minutes.
It’s then wrapped in a fat towel and sold as a traditional fish.
The catch can cost up to US$30,000 per kilo.
A local fishmonger in California was so moved by the catch that he posted it on his Facebook page, where it has been shared more than 3,000 times.
“I’m so happy with the catch,” he said.
Koji Yamamoto, who is also from Kobe, said he was happy the fish had made the news.
“It is a big honour for me to be able to catch this big fish, especially with the history of Kobe fish, and this is the best thing that has happened to me in the past,” he told ABC News.
“I have a lot of memories of catching Kobe fish for my family, and I am also very grateful for the restaurant and everyone who has helped make it happen.”
Kazuhiro Nakamura, the manager of Kobe King seafood, said the catch was rare, but it was a good chance to capture the fish.
“This is the first time I’ve seen this catch, but we hope it is not just the last,” he explained.
“We are working on it with our suppliers and other suppliers, so it could be the last catch.”
The best way to get the best product is to have the best fish, but this is a great catch.
