Seafood is being sold in Australia’s biggest market with the opening of Joe’s famous seafood restaurant in Adelaide.
The restaurant will serve up to 120 different types of seafood including mackerel, sardines, carp and salmon, alongside burgers and hot dogs.
The first 100 customers will receive a $250 deposit and get a free steak, lobster and other premium items.
Joe’s has been open since 2011 and it is the latest restaurant to open in the capital.
The Adelaide-based chain said it had not received a formal letter of intent from the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
“We are extremely grateful to our customers for their support over the years and we are looking forward to welcoming more customers,” the company said in a statement.
Joe and Joes CEO and chairman David Waugh said in the statement the restaurant would continue to provide a diverse range of delicious dishes to meet the needs of customers, while ensuring that everyone had a great experience.
“Our team is incredibly passionate about creating a welcoming environment and we know that people will be surprised by our offerings,” he said.
“As we open the doors, we will work with the local authorities and the local community to ensure that everyone enjoys their time at the restaurant.”
Mr Waugh also thanked Adelaide mayor Lachlan Kelly and Mayor Andrew Stoner for their commitment to keeping the community safe and for helping the restaurant survive the fire.
